ExoLogic has several products available. These are designed to be easy-to-use and have embedded best-practices.
Below are products that are currently available.
ExoLogic is recognized as the world leader in BI (Business Intelligence) platform migration expertise and related applications, easing the lack of effective interoperability and portability in the maturing BI/BPM product space. Where most organizations end up with duplicative stacks of BI products, there now exists a practical route to standardizing their BI/BPM stacks efficiently into one product.
(Now with Support for Analysis Services 2008R2 and 2012)
In a nutshell, the product enables, in a practical way, either migration or replication, from Oracle/Hyperion Essbase to Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
The Microsoft product is now the #1 multi-dimensional (OLAP) product on the market.
CubePort is helping to change the BI landscape and in turn easing the vendor lock-in
situations in which too many customers unfortunately find themselves.
When in this situation, because they cannot make an easy cut over to a new product, many customers have their support shut down and/or are compelled into paying unreasonable maintenence renewal or upgrade fees.
To address that problem, CubePort feasibly permits BI migration, providing real ROI against software licensing,
and offers dramatically improved cube performance (details below).
As well, it opens up the undeniable benefits of "BI Standardization" possibilities.
CubePort™, The Analytics Porting Application, is the most comprehensive software tool available in the marketplace
for customers migrating or replicating from Oracle/Hyperion Essbase to Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
The software richly ports and consistently employs best-practices to convert almost every aspect of an
Essbase application/cube to the Microsoft product.
CubePort™ uses its patent-pending Analogy Mapping technology to achieve a clean, easy-to-manage translation.
Since its introduction, CubePort has won over the skeptics and exceeded the expectations of eventual adoptors.
Please note that whether the source cubes are standard Essbase (ASO or BSO), or "Hyperion® System™ 9 or 11 BI+™ Analytic Services" or "Enterprise Analytics Server" or "IBM DB/2 OLAP" or "Showcase Essbase" or "Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus" (OBIEE or OBIEE Plus or OBIEE+) or "EPM" or "Essbase Plus Module"
-- avoid the confusion, no matter what the name, all modes of Essbase are supported and all can readily be converted to Microsoft Analysis Services.
Supported Essbase platforms include Windows and non-Windows such as Windows Server Essbase, Unix Essbase, AS/400 Showcase Essbase, etc.

Analysis Services: Better Decisions with Enhanced Cube Grain:
Would you and the value of your end-users' decisions benefit from much enhanced cube grain?
Do any of these situations sound all too familiar to you and your BI team?
* Do your cubes take too long to load and calculate?
* Did you have to paramaterize your cubes' loading to just include a subset of the entire amount of data that is really needed by the end-users?
* Are most, or all, of your cubes stuck in an older version of Essbase (6 or 7), or are they stuck in BSO storage mode even on a newer version of Essbase (9 or 11)?
* Did you have to compromise your cube design by making it much more coarse than your end-users wanted?
* For example, did you end up designing in just down to the Month level of Time rather than to the Day grain like your end-users want?
* What about in your Geography dimension just down to the State level, instead of down to the City or ZIP levels like desired?
* How about in your product dimension just down to the Product Line level, instead of down to the SKU level like end-users want?
What if you could decrease your cubes' footprint by 30-fold or more? What if you could decrease the load time by the same magnitude?
These are the kind of increases in cube grain which makes Microsoft Analysis Services so very popular, and it will greatly improve the decision making of the end-users.
When your current OLAP product practically maxes out before you get to the grain you want, it may be time for a change.
You Already Own It: Chances are, you already own Microsoft Analysis Services. If you have SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008, 2008R2, or 2012), you already own Analysis Services (abberviated as SSAS or MSAS). It happens to already be on your SQL Server install image! Analysis Services is an OLAP engine very much like Essbase which allows any standard relational data source to feed it.
And because it's from Microsoft, it has a very reasonable price point if you want to eventually expand its usage beyond the SQL Server boxes you're already running. And with SQL Server also comes Reporting Services, an excellent front-end for Analysis Services for strongly-formatted, changeable, and highly printable reports.
Reporting Services Connectivity: As of this writing, SQL Server Reporting Services can only connect to Essbase 9.3 and higher, so CubePort is an excellent way to allow the connection into the data that you have in your current Essbase cube by porting the cube to SSAS.
This allows a significant growth of the number of end-users that can consume the cubes (say to your marketing or sales team), but as a result of side-stepping the named user licensing scheme, this keeps to a minimum the named user count.
Retain Your Current Front-end Product, if You Like: Many of the front-end products that Essbase customers use today are fully compatible with Microsoft Analysis Services, such as Temtec, Arcplan, AlphaBlox, Excel, Business Objects, Tableau, etc. This means that there is often no visible change to the end-users' experiences.
However, with the variety of additional front-end products available to Analysis Services, such as ProClarity, Panorama's NovaView™, Polyvista, Reporting Services, and many others, there is a whole new host of paradigms and ways available in which to view your multi-dimensional data when in Analysis Services.
For Hyperion Planning Users: Microsoft's entry into the budgeting/planning space is the release of the Performance Point Server (PPS) product, now built into SharePoint Server Enterprised Edition. It includes ProClarity (ad hoc reporting) and a Dashboard product, which are the Monitoring and Analytics (M&A) components, as well as a highly-functional planning component.
CubePort is an good way to pull your environment's Hyperion Planning cubes into the Planning, or into the M&A components of the Performance Point product.
CubePort is the only comprehensive answer in the marketplace to the lack of effective portability in the BI space.
The product has set a very high standard for this new product class, invented, innovated, and marketed by ExoLogic.
In practical terms, many customers are made captive by the many proprietary structures, syntaxes, and models embedded into many BI products.
In the hopes of solving their many day-to-day business problems, such captive customers have little choice but to
continually introduce more and more components and other BI toolsets to their architectures.
This is done without the realization that software that they already own
(in the form of SQL Server Analysis Services working with their existing relational database, such as Oracle, DB/2, TeraData, or SQL Server)
may effectively solve such business and technical problems.
CubePort allows in a very practical manner the recouping of years' worth of investments sunk into in-production data marts,
with the option of running in parallel, and without necessarily disrupting current ETL processes and
data warehousing architectures.
This saves customers the time and expense of converting cubes manually. No other tool offers this level of automation.
The product was developed with consideration for transitioning your staff’s knowledge to the new OLAP product.
CubePort's Two Main Scenarios:
Scenario 1 -- Migration:
In this scenario, cubes are ported to Microsoft Analysis Services and the original system may be decommissioned, only running
them in parallel while verification of the port occurs.
As well, this yields new capabilities and features possibly unavailable or not as economically priced.
Microsoft products such as Reporting Services, Sharepoint, etc., as well as third-party offerings' features
are all activated by making the full-scale shift to the MS BI platform.
Migration also allows reaching of the much in-demand goal of standardization of BI toolsets where a one-OLAP product environment
may be realized, lowering TCO (total cost of ownership).
Scenario 2 -- Replication:
In this scenario, Essbase is retained, and cubes are ported to Microsoft Analysis Services, both
systems running in parallel and effectively keeping in check the growth of named users.
This enables new capabilities and features possibly unavailable or not as economically priced.
Microsoft products such as Reporting Services, Sharepoint, the MS Excel Add-in, etc., as well as third-party
offerings' features, such as Panorama NovaView™, the XL Cubed's Excel Add-In, Outlooksoft, etc.
All of these available benefits and options are, in effect, conferred by replicating cubes over to the MS BI platform.
BI Toolset Standardization:
The advantages of unifying your BI environment into one across-the-board solution has benefits too numerous to attempt to completely quantify,
but can be summarized to say that a significantly lower overall TCO is achieved. Where many BI toolsets deliver much similar and overlapping funtionality,
recognizing this and acting to take advantage of unified functionality from cube to cube, having the same query and expression syntax, and
unified security models in your BI systems, and even the same reporting product layer, such as Reporting Services, can bring greatly lowered
administration costs and desired consistency. Much of this can be achieved by implementing CubePort.
Let us help you change out the planks in your current BI platform for updated and improved BI solutions for your organization.
Integrated Best-practices, by Design:
When using CubePort, the resultant cubes are consistent high-quality re-builds of the original cubes.
The many integrated best-practices are reliably applied to each and every cube and take special advantage
of the things that Analysis Services does well, such as dimension sharability, cube processing times, management of cubes, etc.
As a knowledgable, experienced consultant would, CubePort always applies features that make sure the cubes
are high-performing and kept at a low maintenence.
Helping Make Analysis Services Stronger in Finance:
One of the many benefits of using CubePort is that Analysis Services is augmented for financial analysis.
This is achieved, in part, by providing a familar library of functions that are exposed to the SSAS developers and data consumers.
These functions are simple to use and do not require a serious MDX skillset and abstracts much of the complex
side of building financial calculations, such as: dynamic time series, averages across sets, time balancing, etc.
Also, the usually unbalanced (or even ragged) dimensions that are frequently found in financial applications
are made to be simple to maintain, and the cube schema is designed to utilize the most of truly MOLAP aggregations.
Additionally, included in the CubePort install (under CubePort directory .\DistReportPackFinancialAnalytics after install) is a Financial Analytics Report Pack

So, who implements the solution?
In the self-serve scenario, the customer decides on who does the implementation, either internal resources or external consulting. This results in a lower per cube price. ExoLogic provides full software support for the effort.
In the full-service scenario, either ExoLogic or a certified partner implements the solution, validates the port results, and is responsible for handling any exceptions, and optionally may optimize the delivered cubes. In the partner case, ExoLogic will reach into its certified and qualified CubePort partner network that can effectively implement and who may be local to your country or region. As above, ExoLogic provides full software support for the effort.
